8+Years of practice
3Solo exhibitions

A practice built on quiet attention.

Maya began with long walks through Lisbon in 2013, a borrowed film camera, and a stubborn curiosity about how strangers carry their cities. The work has since carried her through Tokyo rooftops, Arctic coastlines, and the back rooms of European concert halls.

Her photographs have appeared in British Journal of Photography, Apartamento, and Foam Magazine. She teaches a yearly workshop on slow seeing from her studio in Kreuzberg.

"You don't need to travel far to see something rare. You just need the momentum to look."

A Lifetime in Twenty Minutes

SERBIA · 2026

A brief twenty-minute drive through a roadside town that unfolded into an entire human timeline. Framed through the window, the passing faces and quiet sidewalk scenes pieced together a whole life—from fleeting youth to quiet old age, captured in motion.

Stills from an Unmade Film

USA · NORWAY · SERBIA · 2022 — 2025

A visual pursuit of those rare moments when reality stops feeling ordinary and begins to look like a frame from an unmade movie. No script, no actors—just the accidental geometry of the road, the texture of natural light, and the strange sensation of stepping directly into someone else’s cinematic story.
